The celebration for 50 years of the reunification of Yerushalayim was celebrated at Yavneh Academy with beautiful tefillah and Hallel, a school-wide kumzitz, building a model of Yerushalayim using 70,000 Lego pieces, a carnival for younger students, scavenger hunts, a visit to the Shuk and inter-grade learning about the names of Yerushalayim. All Yavneh students also helped to build our Kotel Shel Chesed. Students were given “bricks” to write an act of kindness that they pledge to do. The bricks helped build a Kotel Shel Chesed. These acts of kindness will pair with a letter in the Global Unity Torah and will help Yavneh complete 800 letters in the Torah.
