The Yavneh Academy Chesed Team recently joined together for their last chesed event for the month of January. Over 80 students gathered to be a part of the warm wishes blanket activity for the Jewish Home at Rockleigh. The evening started with a live Zoom with some residents and staff of the Rockleigh along with Director Sunni Herman. Student representatives shared an original poem about the warmth they want to relay to the residents even though they cannot be there in person. The students sang a song focusing on Hashem’s blessings. The residents of the Rockleigh spoke to the Yavneh students about how much this project means to them. Herman reiterated the important bond they have with Yavneh Academy and shared some additional ways students can get involved with the residents even during Covid. The students then excitedly made the “homemade” blankets with scissors, felt and lots of warm wishes!
