Yavneh Academy first graders had a blast celebrating Groundhog Day. After learning all about groundhogs on Pebble Go, the children made paper groundhogs and participated in many fun shadow experiments. They learned how shadows are created and how the position of the sun can impact the length of a shadow through exciting hands on activities. The students created shadows indoors using a flashlight. They discovered how to change a shadow’s shape, size and position by moving the object that is casting the shadow or by moving the light source.
