Excitement and ruach filled the air during Yavneh’s first middle school oneg of the year. Students from sixth, seventh and eighth grades all participated in welcoming Shabbat and the new month of Kislev. Rabbi Penn gave a heartwarming Dvar Torah about what it means to be a hero. In addition to eating delicious potato kugel, each student enjoyed dreidel shaped cookies in honor of the month of Kislev. With Mr. Steiner on guitar, the students sang several heart-warming tunes and Shabbat zemirot and were especially excited about learning a new song with Rabbi Menchel. It was a great way to start off the month of festivities and the monthly middle school onegs.
