Yavneh fourth graders enthusiastically “tasted” different book genres. The students had the opportunity to sample adventure, realistic fiction, biography, mystery and nonfiction books. After five minutes, the students reviewed the book and rotated to a new genre. At the conclusion of the “tasting,” the students reflected about the it and commented that they enjoyed being exposed to genres which they usually don’t choose to read.
