On the first day of Chanukah, Yavneh Academy Middle School students celebrated Chanukah with a special yom iyun. Students participated in four, 10 minute lessons, round-robin style. The yom iyun was interdisciplinary and focused both on general studies and Judaic Studies.

In their Judaic Studies lessons, students focused on different halachic and hashkafic aspects of the chag. In their general studies classes students wrote about Jewish identity, and did various probability problems related to Chanukah. Students enjoyed an insightful and educational afternoon, learning about Chanukah and preparing for the upcoming week.
