(Yavneh Sports) The Yavneh Academy seventh grade boys basketball hosted their neighboring school, Visitation Academy, for a special scrimmage basketball game last night.
Visitation had been looking for other schools to compete against since Covid. A Yavneh school parent, Heather Fineman, met one of their players and his father, the coach, at a local sports league game. The two of them developed this idea of the teams playing a game together.
Athletics opens so many doors. This game represented a chance for Yavneh students to meet and interact with other students their age who share a love of basketball, among many other ideas in common. By realizing what unites us, we create worlds of understanding and hope for a more tolerant and collaborative future.
After the game, the students enjoyed snacks and drinks together before heading home. Yavneh looks forward to other such opportunities in the future.
