As everyone is focused on how to help others during this tragic time, Yavneh Academy students have been writing letters to chayalim and their families as well as packaging Shabbat treats for families who have lone soldiers in the IDF. The feedback from the recipients has been extremely heartfelt and encourages students to continue doing for others, even if it might seem small, it can have a huge impact. Below is a thank-you letter Yavneh Academy received:
To Yavneh Academy and its Students,
This past Erev Shabbos, my husband and I got a surprise visit from one of the Yavneh moms and children on behalf of Yavneh. In addition to delicious treats for Shabbat, they delivered something even more precious and meaningful—beautiful and heartfelt letters of encouragement and support written by the students to our son, E, who is a lone soldier currently deployed to the south, as well as to us, his parents
You can’t imagine how overwhelmed and touched we were—to the point of tears—by the thoughtfulness and sweetness of the wishes expressed by the children.
Please let the students know that we took individual pictures of all the letters and sent them via WhatsApp to E and he has read each and every one of them. He asked that we let the kids know how very much he appreciated their thoughts and wishes and that knowing and seeing how much everyone cares is a huge source of support and encouragement to him and his fellow soldiers.
Am Yisrael Chai!
