While Chanukah is a time when children receive many gifts, the staff at Yavneh wanted to stress the importance of giving at this time as well and considering others who may not be as fortunate. Yavneh was therefore excited to participate in the Tomchei Shabbos Chanukah doughnut donation program this year.

During Chanukah, middle school students had the opportunity to order doughnuts. For every doughnut students ordered, one doughnut was donated to Tomchei Shabbos, and distributed to Tomchei Shabbos beneficiaries on Chanukah. Class representatives helped organize the distribution to students who cheerfully enjoyed the doughnuts with the knowledge they were doing a mitzvah at the same time!
