On Sunday, March 22, ten choirs representing nine schools, gathered at The New School in Manhattan for the first annual “Hebrew Song Celebration.” The event was sponsored by the educational branch of the World Zionist Federation. This first gathering commemorated the tenth yahrzeit of legendary Israeli composer Naomi Shemer. Representing Yavneh Academy were the Junior Chorus and the Concert Choir, both under the direction of Marsha Greenberg Motzen.
