On Friday, November 15, Yavneh Academy’s 8th grade students, inspired and directed by Bnot Sherut Talya, Hadar, Karin and Sarit, learned the mitzvah of hafrashat challah and the comfort of kneading and braiding challah dough.
In commemoration of Rachel Imeinu’s yahrzeit, as well as a way to welcome Parshat Vayeira, the Shabbos Project’s global Shabbos weekend, students and faculty shared the mitzvah together. They discussed the blessing and gift of celebrating Shabbat while remembering how important tefillot are to Israel and the hostages who remain in captivity. May the davening and celebration of the Yavneh students bring peace to Israel and freedom to those who have not yet been brought home.
