Last week the Yavneh Academy Gan students visited the Metropolitan Museum of Art, culminating their year-long in-depth study of art history and art appreciation.
Throughout the year, the students studied works by artists such as Picasso, Rembrandt, Monet, Cassatt, Mondrian Chagall and Agam. They were introduced to new vocabulary and concepts such as vertical, horizontal, self-portrait, reflection, landscape and horizon. In addition, they studied painting styles such as impressionism, cubism and pointillism.
On their trip, the Yavneh students discovered works by the artists and of the genres that they had been studying this year.
