This week Yavneh Academy gan students continued exploring the world of brachot. They reviewed ha’etz knowledge from Tu B’Shevat and learned about all of the miraculous food Hashem provided for Bnei Yisrael in the desert. They compared the foods they eat to foods they aet and realized that all of the foods really come from Hashem.

The students are currently working on a brachot placemat to use during snack time. They are sorting through magazines and circulars to find foods for each bracha and cutting them out to place in the appropriate spot. They played a fun movement game doing tree poses for ha’etz and ground poses for ha’adama as they learned the correct bracha for each food. The students also planted an ha’adama food, karpas, which will, hopefully, be ready in time for Pesach!
