The Yavneh girls basketball team won its first game of the season against RPRY. There was great excitement as the girls played at home in the school’s new gymnasium in front of a terrific and supportive crowd and came from behind to pull out the win 26-17.
Michal Meisels (9 points) did a nice job running the point guard position and stayed one step ahead of RPRY pressure defense all night. Zoe Buchsbayew and Kira Elbaum gave a tremendous effort at both ends of the court along with Emma Soclof, to pull out the victory for the Yavneh girls team. Team members Leora Fineberg, Nikki Ratner, Evie Gutlove and Rebecca Adler also contributed a great effort to the Yavneh win.
The team gave a solid performance and should be proud of their effort.
