This past week not only brought many new facets to the Yavneh Academy distance learning platform, but middle school students also had the opportunity to join together via Zoom for night activities.
Middle school learned how to make delicious chocolate chip sticks with Limor Levy from @TastefulcreationsbyLimor, with a live tutorial via Zoom. The best part was, not only did the kids get to enjoy a special treat, but parents had one less dessert to bake for Shabbos!
The students also had the opportunity to learn all about the importance of their core, and ways to build up the core, along with the Jewish thought behind working out from Coach Mike Dube from @TheEliteMethod. They started off by spelling their name, with each letter corresponding to a different workout, and then used a special dice to dictate specific workouts. It was a great way for students to keep active while being in their homes.
On Thursday night, students joined together for the Yavneh Academy Great Big Zoom Challah Bake. Morah Baruchov did a live demonstration from her kitchen on how to make water challah. Morah Baruchov taught the students about the halachot of hafrashat Challah and Morah Moriah taught the students and parents incredible braiding techniques. Everyone enjoyed their challot for Shabbos! Looking forward to more great activities this coming week!
