Yavneh Places Second in Stock Market Game

Yavneh Academy’s seventh grade students, Adam Gluck, Rami Berman, Molly Weisbrot and Shira Sedek impressively placed second in the fall Stock Market Game—sponsored by the SIFMA foundation—beating out 380 teams. They started the simulation with $100,000 and by the end of the 10-week competition, had over $131,000. Their favorite stock, one that nearly doubled, was Hawaiian Airlines; it profited from lower gas prices and refraining from flying routes to countries where Ebola was rampant.

The Yavneh students were honored this week at the award ceremony in Jersey City at Pershing headquarters.
