The Yavneh Redhawks collected an important victory over a very talented Noam Knights team on Tuesday night. Both teams were excited to be playing their first game in front of fans (as per YMSSA rules only home fans that are both masked and vaccinated, were in attendance) and the excitement manifested in tremendous defense from both teams. Neither team cracked the scoreboard during the first quarter. Yavneh’s Sammy Mohl led all scorers with 18 points, scoring 10 of the team’s 14 first-half points in the second quarter. Noam’s Jonathan Milgrom kept the Knights in the game and even had them in the lead early in the fourth quarter 23-22. However, a strong fourth quarter from Mohl and the Redhawks carried them to a 13 point victory 40-27.
