The Yavneh Redhawks started the season with a very different look, since most of last year’s team had graduated. The team was determined to be champions again and every single team member put in tremendous work and dedication. Finishing the regular season 7-1, the team learned how to work together and thrive when things got tough.
In the semifinals they faced their rivals, the Moriah Mountaineers. It was the team’s biggest challenge, yet they persevered and won. As they advanced to the finals, they were playing a Ramaz team that they had never played or even seen before. It was a hard fought game throughout. In a two minute clip, Ramaz scored two goals, making the score 3-1. The Redhawks answered back with number 99, Alex Zakheim. Zakheim scored twice giving himself a hat trick, making the score 3-3. As the clock was winding down, Yavneh captains Eitan Gulich and Aiden Einhorn raced up the court and set up the perfect pass. Gulich lobbed the ball to Einhorn as the crowd cheered because Einhorn scored the game-winning goal.
