Yavneh Academy fourth- and fifth-grade students had the opportunity to select an elective specialty class of their choice at the start of the year. Students in the STEM elective met biweekly using the engineering design process to create, test, race and explore while using a variety of tools and technologies. Using Tinkercad for 3D printing, creating circuits to write music with Makey Makey, and coding Ozobots are just a few of the many exceptional experiences the students had the opportunity to explore. To culminate the semester, students teamed up to design lessons to present to some of our first graders. It was phenomenal to watch the STEM students take ownership of their projects as they presented with pride. They are looking forward to next semester!
