In a remarkable display of kavod haTorah, over 300 participants gathered on Sunday, November 17, to celebrate the hachnosas sefer Torah at YBH of Passaic. The event marked the arrival of a sefer Torah originally written in 1958 by the grandparents of Evan Lyman and beautifully restored by the Lyman family for use at YBH.
The celebration began at the YBH main campus, with the spirited procession making its way through the streets to the YBH boys campus. Accompanied by lively music and heartfelt dancing, participants of all ages joined together to escort the Torah with great simcha and achdus.
The event showcased the unique strength and unity of YBH. Families, talmidim, rabbanim and friends all came together to honor this milestone. The sefer Torah, restored with great care and dedication, will now serve as a source of inspiration and ruchniyus for the talmidim of YBH for years to come.
Evan and Amanda Lyman shared their feelings of hakaras hatov, saying, “It’s a zechus for our family to restore this sefer Torah for YBH, and we are grateful to share in this simcha with the YBH family. We hope the Torah continues to bring light and bracha to all who use it.”
The procession concluded at the boys campus with great excitement as the Torah was placed in its new home. This special event served as a reminder of the enduring power of Torah and its centrality in the lives of YBH talmidim and families.
