Yeshivat Chovevei Torah is excited to host Rabbi Hyim Shafner in the second installment of its Community Shemitah Beit Midrash, taking place on Zoom this Sunday evening, November 7 at 9 p.m Eastern. His topic will be “Like Dreamers: 19th Century Zionists and Their Views of Shemitah.” Rabbi Shafner serves as spiritual leader of Kesher Israel Congregation in Washington, D.C., has extensive experience in the fields of the rabbinate and psychology, and is a sought-after speaker who combines high-quality Torah insights with modern analysis.

The YCT Community Shemitah Beit Midrash is co-sponsored by 17 communities and organizations throughout North America and is free and open to the public. Sessions are all closed-captioned and also include live ASL interpretation by advance request.
