YCT Offers ‘Seder Sense’

Yeshivat Chovevei Torah invites the entire community to “Seder Sense: An Evening of Torah Study” in preparation for Pesach.

The program will take place on Zoom on Sunday, March 26 from 8-10 p.m. One exciting component of this program is a focus on the Pesach experience of Ethiopian Jews, both before their own exodus from Ethiopia and since their arrival in Israel.

YCT’s Rabbi Yonah Berman will interview Rabbi Dr. Sharon Shalom, who immigrated to Israel from Ethiopia in the 1980s. A graduate of Yeshivat Har Etzion and Bar Ilan University, Shalom is the founder of the International Center for the Study of Ethiopian Jewry at Ono College in Kiryat Ono. He has written three books focusing on the victories and struggles of the Ethiopian Jewish community as it has become re-engaged with other Jewish communities over the past century.

Hosted by YCT, Seder Sense is a partnership of 25 communities and organizations throughout North America and Israel, all dedicated to providing a wonderful, accessible set of opportunities for people to better prepare for the Seder.

The program will include live closed captioning and ASL interpretation, and is free and open to the public with prior registration. Visit yctorah.org/seder to learn more and register.
