Yeshiva League Basketball Playoffs: Round 1 Recap

The first round of the Yeshiva League basketball playoffs brought plenty of action, with dominant performances and second-half surges that set the stage for an exciting quarterfinal round.

MDY VS HAFTR

Magen David wasted no time asserting its dominance over HAFTR, taking control right from the opening tip and never looking back. Josh Chabbott put on a show, dropping 27 points as the Warriors cruised to victory. Up next, they’ll face MTA at Yeshiva University, where the competition should be much tougher.

Flatbush VS YDE

In a matchup between two familiar rivals, Flatbush came out on top against YDE, thanks to Ricky Haddad’s impressive 25-point performance. The Falcons advance to take on TABC, where they’ll look to carry their momentum into a tough quarterfinal test.

Hillel VS Frisch

Frisch gave Hillel all it could handle in the first half, keeping it to a one-point game at the break. But the Heat responded with a dominant second-half performance, quickly shutting down any upset hopes and rolling to a 20+ point win. Leyad Teren and Bruce Epstein led a balanced attack that helped Hillel put the game out of reach. Next up, they’ll travel to Great Neck to face North Shore in what should be an exciting matchup.

Ramaz vs. SAR:

The Final Spot Still Up for Grabs

As of now, the Ramaz vs. SAR game has yet to be played, with the winner set to take on DRS in the quarterfinals. Whichever team comes out on top will have a tough test ahead.
