Yeshivat Boniyach High School: The Perfect Place for Your Son or Daughter

What are your options if your son or daughter is in eighth or ninth grade and is interested in coding and computers? What happens if they are interested in law and wish to study to be paralegal? How about those students who are interested in medicine or healthcare and wish to become an EMT? What about those students who are interested in becoming an entrepreneur or obtaining their real estate license? Do you have a child who is talented in art and would like to learn to become a graphic designer? How about a son or daughter who loves cooking and baking and wants to study culinary arts?

You could send your child to a high school in Israel or you can send them to the only yeshiva high school of its kind in the U.S.—Yeshivat Bonayich, located in Emerson, New Jersey, in Bergen County.

Major in coding while taking a regular dual high school curriculum. Study to be a paralegal while in high school as part of your yeshiva high school studies on your way to becoming a lawyer. Train to become an EMT in conjunction with TVAC (Teaneck Volunteer Ambulance Corps) as you pursue your Jewish and secular studies. Study under successful entrepreneur Doug Soclof, real estate broker and founder of Dougies BBQ, and obtain your real estate license. Finally, be coached by one of the premier yeshiva high school coaches, Bobby Kaplan, and play in the sport of your choice. Sounds exciting and perfect for your son or daughter.

Pursue internships while you study in your major during the school year and the summer. Work at camps or summer programs such as Moshava Ba’Ir, Moshava I/O, United Hatzalah and NCSY. Continue your college studies through joint programs with community colleges and universities in the U.S. and Israel such as the Jerusalem College of Technology. Spend a gap year in Israel learning while also pursuing an Internship through MASA Israel.

Yeshivat Bonayich is headed by Rabbi Eliyahu Teitz, former associate dean of the Jewish Education Center and grandson of the founding dean, Rabbi Pinchas Mordechai Teitz, zt”l. Rabbi Eliyahu Teitz earned his semicha from RIETS of Yeshiva University while studying under Rabbi Hershel Schachter.

I have started four schools, three colleges and one high school, and Yeshivat Bonayich is a school that is sorely needed and like no other school in the region or the country under Jewish auspices. When I created the Bramson ORT College, the first ORT school in the U.S. and a junior college, I saw the need for the ORT brand of technical and business education in the U.S. that was so successful in Israel and throughout the world. AMIT and Boys Town Jerusalem have demonstrated in Israel that Torah and technology can thrive together on the high school level.

When I started the Sy Syms School of Business and served as associate dean for 24 years, I saw the enthusiasm and excitement both the men and women had in studying entrepreneurship, real estate, computers, and graphic design, through a joint program at FIT. I brought in hundreds of speakers; we will do the same for the Yeshivat Bonayich boys and girls.

Yeshivat Bonayich wants your son or daughter to enjoy their yeshiva high school years by studying subjects that they are interested in leading towards potential careers. Let it become the perfect school for your son or daughter.

Come join Yeshivat Bonayich for a Virtual Open House on Sunday, January 16 at 7:30 p.m. Those who attend will have their $150 application fee waived. In addition, if you apply by Monday January 31, a $2000 scholarship will be awarded to all applicants who are accepted. To register for the open house or for additional information contact: [email protected] or Rabbi Eliyahu Teitz 646-957-0200.

Prof. Ira Jaskoll is the former associate dean at the Sy Syms School of Business and director of the Bramson ORT College.
