Yeshivat Frisch’s engineering classes have been utilizing an engaging and creative combination of tools in order to continue their high quality work during quarantine: teamwork in breakout rooms, online simulation and distributing parts so that students can actually build and troubleshoot at home.
Students are working in teams to design year-end capstone projects for a virtual Innovation Day. For the project, students will build and submit a web page and three-minute “elevator pitch” video on their innovation. The project includes creative home use of Arduino and sensors, objects found around the house, 3D drawing, online Arduino simulation circuits and Tinkercad design. Students are being extraordinarily creative as they virtually bring together the moving pieces designed and built in several locations.
