Last week, the entire senior grade of Yeshivat Frisch visited the Museum of Jewish Heritage’s temporary exhibit, Auschwitz: Not long ago. Not far away. They were led by expert museum guides and had the opportunity to observe the exhibit’s many artifacts up close, including some religious objects that Jewish victims preserved against all odds. The experience was moving, difficult and meaningful, adding a deeper dimension to the students’ understanding of the Holocaust and the perseverance of the Jewish people after enduring its horrors.
