Linking Northern and Central NJ, Bronx, Manhattan, Westchester and CT

When Yeshivat Frisch students walked into the school gymnasium for this year’s annual Frisch Purim Palooza, their jaws dropped and they could not stop looking around in awe. It was as if they had walked right into Dave and Buster’s, just with the upgraded name of “Mordy and Esther’s.” Each Frisch grade attended during a different time slot—seniors on Purim night, juniors on Motzei Shabbat, freshmen and sophomores at different times on Sunday evening. It was a true “venahafoch hu,” compared to last year, when the entire student body and faculty were instructed to socially distance, at the outset of the pandemic. This year, it felt like a special treat to come together safely to celebrate. The event also featured a costume contest, Let’s Make a Deal and more. In addition, Frisch opened up the arcade to faculty and their families on Sunday afternoon.

“It’s so nice that we got to have a real chagiga even though it wasn’t a typical chagiga,” said Sophia Greenblatt ‘21.

On Monday, the festivities continued, with students and faculty coming to school in costume, and enjoying another in-school, distanced chagiga gathering.
