Yeshivat He’Atid Brings PBL to Life With Seeing Eye Dogs

This past Tuesday, fourth graders were privileged to host the Seeing Eye Dog Foundation at school! This presentation is part of the fourth grade’s continuous Project Based Learning curriculum, where they are learning the midot related to kindness and helping out the people around them. Two volunteers from the organization came with two dogs, Venus and Raisin, to teach students all about the Seeing Eye Dog Foundation. The students were eagerly listening as the volunteers described how the dogs are bred, raised and all the steps that go into their training to become a guide dog for people who are blind. At the end of the presentation, students were even able to meet and pet the two dogs! As part of this partnership, the fourth grade class participates in the “Pennies for Pups” program to sponsor a Seeing Eye dog of their own! They are very excited to continuing learning all about service animals over the course of the year.
