In addition to all the fun opportunities that Chanukah provides, the holiday is also a good time for educational projects. Among the hands-on learning experiences at Yeshivat He’Atid were the Chanukah board games created by the fourth graders and the Israel-themed chanukiyot built by the fifth grade.
Fourth graders were given the task of creating their own board games completely in Ivrit. The games were Chanukah-related and each group had a chance to present their game. On Wednesday, then entire grade gathered in the cafeteria to take turns playing each others’ games.
Fifth graders were challenged to build chanukiyot based on the 70th year of Medinat Yisrael and/or Yerushalayim as the capital of Israel. Each group presented their chanukiyot in Ivrit and proudly displayed them in the hallways.
