Yeshivat He’Atid kicked off their Adar Chesed Initiative with a very special Chesed Day, dedicated to the refuah of a member of our community.
Chesed Day was a great success! Each grade at Yeshivat He’Atid participated in meaningful chesed activities which motivated and inspired the students to actively engage in chesed whenever possible. Shorashim and early childhood students were given special mitzvah notes throughout the day when they were caught doing a special chesed for a friend in class. The classes also dedicated their morning tefillah to the refuah of חולי ישראל. Lower elementary students wrote special letters of strength to the patients in a local children’s hospital. These letters were made into a special slideshow presentation and are sure to bring smiles to the faces of all the pediatric patients. Upper elementary students wrote “just saying hello” cards to the residents of a local senior assisted living center. Due to COVID, many of these facilities are currently not allowing visitors or for their members to leave. These letters will bring joy to those who may be feeling a bit lonely during these difficult times.
Middle school students have been dedicating the first few minutes of their classes to saying Tehillim. They made special signs of encouragement for front-line workers and those in need. They also discussed ways they can commit to chesed opportunities in our community. The students also dedicated their regular lunch and learn to a speedy recovery for klal Yisrael in need of our tefillot. May our children continue to gain a passion for giving and kindness throughout their lives!
