Yeshivat He’Atid Marks Israel’s 70th

This year’s Yom Ha’atzmaut was an exciting and meaningful day at Yeshivat He’Atid. After Hallel and blue and white ice cream, the first half of the day was dedicated to learning all about Medinat Yisrael, while the afternoon was full of Israeli spirit as the entire school gathered together for student performances. The room was full of energy as everyone in the crowd—teachers and students—encouraged the performers by clapping along and cheering.

Preschoolers are now familiar with the cities of Eilat, Tzfat and Tel Aviv, as well as familiar with the Shuk, the Dead Sea and the concept of a kibbutz. Pre-k and kindergarten students also placed letters in our Kotel. Students from grades one through six were introduced to the following: the establishment of the State of Israel, the emancipation of Yerushalayim, Israeli children’s TV, peace between Israel and Egypt, Yael Arad—Israel’s first olympic medalist (Judo), Ilan Ramon—Israel’s first astronaut in space as well as a number of Israeli inventions.

A big thank you to the entire Yeshivat He’Atid faculty. Everybody worked hard as a team to make Yom Ha’atzmaut the amazing day that it was. Kol hakavod!
