The Yeshivat He’Atid sixth-graders are learning about potential and kinetic energy. Is it true that what goes up must come down? How much energy does a roller coaster car need to make it through a loop? The children learned more about kinetic and potential energy as they built their own roller coasters from simple classroom materials. They used a ball to represent potential energy and rolled it through their roller coaster. Once the ball rolled down the roller coaster, it demonstrated kinetic energy. While working on this exciting activity, the students showed frenetic energy!
