YH came together to celebrate the joy of reading with a week full of exciting activities. Students in kindergarten through eighth grade participated in a Reading Competition, tracking their minutes and challenging themselves to read more each day. The Mystery Readers program brought surprise guest readers from the school’s administration into classrooms, delighting students with special read-aloud sessions. Through the Reading Buddy Program, older students paired up with younger grades to share stories and encourage a love of reading.

A highlight of the week was the visit from author Avi Steinberg, who captivated students with engaging presentations. After listening to one of his stories, students had the opportunity to share their own creative ideas. Avi brought these ideas to life using his storytelling and artistic skills, making the experience both inspiring and interactive.
It was a fantastic week filled with reading, creativity and connection—thank you to everyone who helped make it so special.
