Yeshivat He’Atid Divides Head of School Role Between Rosh Yeshiva and Principal

As Yeshivat He’Atid is set to double its initial enrollment by this fall, the Board of Trustees announced its decision to divide the role of Head of School between principal and rosh yeshiva. Rabbi Netanel Gralla, the current Head of School, will be Yeshivat He’Atid’s first Rosh Yeshiva, while Dr. Tani Foger has been named Principal.

Rabbi Gralla will continue to be the spiritual, cultural, and communal leader of the school. He will be responsible for ensuring that Yeshivat He’Atid remains a warm, nurturing and positive environment filled with strong Jewish values and ruach. He will serve as the posek and religious leader, and will continue to be a presence in each and every classroom as he develops relationships with our students and instills in them a love of Torah, Am Yisrael, and Medinat Yisrael. Rabbi Gralla will also continue to serve as the public face of the school and the ambassador of its mission, leading our recruitment, fundraising and community outreach efforts. Additionally, Rabbi Gralla will play an important role in furthering its national mission by connecting with schools around the country looking to adopt Yeshivat He’Atid’s groundbreaking educational model.

With the election of Dr. Foger as Yeshivat He’Atid’s first principal, she is set to lead the educational and day-to-day management of the program, students and staff. Dr. Foger comes to the school with over 30 years of experience in the fields of education and child psychology. She studied child and educational psychology at NYU and Teachers College at Columbia University, where she received her M.A. and Ed.M. Dr. Foger has taught courses in psychology and special education at the undergraduate and graduate school levels in New York and Israel. Dr. Foger, who worked as a school psychologist in the NYC public school system for 26 years, also received her doctorate in Jewish Education and Administration from Yeshiva University. Dr. Foger was also instrumental in leading the design of the Hebrew immersion program at Ben Porat Yosef when it opened in 2001.

Dr. Foger has been involved in Yeshivat He’Atid since its inception. She served as a board member in their inaugural year, as well as a member of the Education Committee and Head Support Committee. More recently, Dr. Foger has been working part-time at Yeshivat He’Atid as a school psychologist, advising teachers on various educational and behavioral issues in their classrooms.
