Second graders have been learning about the water cycle. They learned about the stages of evaporation, condensation, precipitation and collection. They were excited to watch an experiment that simulated the process of precipitation using shaving foam and food coloring. They also made models of the water cycle by hanging a Ziploc bag with colored water on the windows of their classroom. The sun heated the water causing evaporation and condensation. By tapping the bags, the students made it “rain” in the bags. They are really looking forward to their next experiment!
