Yeshiva He’Atid eighth graders completed a sugya (topic) of Gemara in Masechet Pesachim that discusses the halachot concerning where one should say kiddush. The Gemara says,—אֵין קִידּוּשׁ אֶלָּא בִּמְקוֹם סְעוּדָה—you should only say Kiddush in the place where you will be having your meal. To conclude their learning, the students had their own kind of meal—a cholent competition! Each group brought in ingredients and made cholent outside of Rav Ronen’s office. The teachers had the tasty opportunity to judge the competition. The judges felt that it was too close to call a winner and they would just have to take one for the team and taste the various entries—at least—one more time!!
