Yeshivat He’Atid hosted its second annual FunRun last Sunday. Students and their families enjoyed sports, contests, prizes, ices and races for both the adults and children. The Bergenfield Fire Department treated all of the racers to a super cool-down by blasting water from atop their fully extended fire truck ladder down to the street below!
This year, all money raised is earmarked for Yeshivat He’Atid’s scholarship fund. Through the generous donations of many parents, extended family, community members and corporate sponsors, the school was able to raise over $15,000. The FunRun, combined with other private donations, allows the Yeshiva to offer scholarships to all those in need without bundling scholarship costs into the price of tuition. Yeshivat He’Atid prides itself in its unique scholarship model which relies entirely on fundraising to cover the costs of all scholarships. Our parents enjoy the freedom to choose to support this important cause and then take a legitimate tax deduction on any donations made.
While the misconception exists that Yeshivat He’Atid does not offer scholarships to those in need, nothing could not be further from the truth. Yeshivat He’Atid has never turned a family away due to an inability to pay tuition. Yeshivat He’Atid utilizes the same scholarship applications and criteria as other local Bergen County Yeshivot. However, due to the fact that Yeshivat He’Atid’s tuition is on average 40 percent less than that of other day schools, there is a significantly reduced need for scholarships.
Yeshivat He’Atid currently has 183 students ranging from Pre-K through 3rd grade. The school plans to add an additional grade each year through 8th grade and is on track to increase enrollment by 25 percent for the upcoming school year. The school is in the process of purchasing a new building on Queen Anne Road in Teaneck, to better serve the rapidly expanding student body,
He’Atid’s groundbreaking educational and financial models have inspired schools both locally and nationally to improve their education and affordability. In just three years of operation, Yeshivat He’Atid has already helped over 150 Bergen County families save over $3 million in tuition costs.
