Yeshivat Noam 2nd graders completed an exciting unit on simple machines. They learned about Work and Force and how simple machines can reduce the amount of effort that used to move something. The budding scientists built and designed their own lever/catapult marshmallow launcher, water lifting Archimedes Screw, wheel and axle race cars, flagpole pulleys and used wedges and inclined planes to help build them all. The students got to bring home their long awaited machines in their simple machine storage tote! If you want to minimize your “work” load, just ask a Yeshivat Noam second grader for some tips on how!
