The Yeshivat Noam End of Year Faculty and Staff Appreciation Brunch was especially meaningful as teachers completed a year full of mask-wearing, hybrid teaching, quarantines and a mix of new challenges. The delicious event was coordinated and sponsored by the Yeshivat Noam Parents Association under the leadership of Ronit Hagler, Samanatha Levenbrown, Elissa Seltzer and Pamela Joseph. Rabbi Hagler opened the event by sharing words of praise and appreciation for the incredible educators and staff members at Yeshivat Noam. Next, alumni parent, Ari Hirt, spoke about the importance of Jewish education and the legacy of his mother, Marcia Hirt in whose memory the Marcia Hirt Initiative Award is named. The award was presented to Rabbi Yaakov Nadler, fourth grade rebbe, who is known for creative, experiential teaching as well as developing meaningful relationships with his students.
The brunch included awards for teachers and staff who celebrated their 10 year milestone and limited-edition Yeshivat Noam jackets for teachers who celebrated their 20 year milestone! Yeshivat Noam also took the time to say farewell to some veteran teachers who have taught for years at Yeshivat Noam including English middle school teacher, Ricki Kurtz and elementary school Judaic studies teacher, Ilana Hen. In a heartfelt tribute, Rabbi Hagler said farewell to Aliza Chanales, middle school principal for her dedication to and impact on each graduate of Yeshivat Noam. As the event concluded, Rabbi Hagler wrapped up the emotional morning with words of appreciation shared by parents and students expressing their appreciation and gratitude to the school.
