This past Sunday, just before the break of dawn, Yeshivat Noam fourth grade boys and girls and their parents gathered together to experience a remarkable shacharit together. Overlooking the water and surrounded by autumn foliage, nature provided the perfect Beit Knesset. Rabbi Yaakov Nadler, the rebbe for the boys, created this event designated to make the mishnah’s davening times, zmanim, relevant and meaningful in the 21st century. When tefillah concluded, the students and parents enjoyed hot chocolate and donuts before continuing together on a hike through nature. This wonderful and creative approach to learning outside of the classroom left both the students and parents with a moving and inspiring shared memory.
This email was received from Dr. Aryeh Baer, father of two Yeshivat Noam students, including a fourth grade daughter: “Thank you to Rabbi Hagler, Rabbi Beer, Rabbi Nadler, and Morah Chasida and Morah Merav for organizing this and making it such an incredibly meaningful and moving experience. We had been hearing for weeks how excited Yedida was looking forward to this. Now we are hearing how totally awesome it was. I wholeheartedly agree with her assessment.”
