Thanks to the leadership of their creative rebbe, Rabbi Yaakov Nadler, Yeshivat Noam fourth graders experienced a sunrise minyan. Living the first two mishnayot of Masechet Brachot, the students witnessed first hand the transformation from night to day, from “dawn” to “misheyakir,” which is when it is light enough to see the difference between blue and white. The students, their teachers and their parents arose before dawn to join in a meaningful, vatikin minyan. Following davening, they enjoyed a family hike along the Hudson River as well as doughnuts and hot chocolate.
