Yeshivat Noam Joins CIJE Drone Olympics

This past Tuesday, the Center for Initiatives in Jewish Education (CIJE) came to our school Yeshivat Noam, and ran an autonomous drone workshop. The day before the workshop, we learned about how drones work in science class. The next day, at the program, we first watched a presentation on how drones work, and then we learned how to fly them. The drones are autonomous so they don’t require a remote control, but need to be coded. We used a coding language similar to Scratch called DroneBlocks to program the drones. The goal of the activity was for us to program the drones to complete an obstacle course. After countless measuring and testing our programming, my team won! I thought that the program was really fun and educational and I am so exited for any future collaborations between Yeshivat Noam and CIJE.
