Could it be smoke, gas or condensation? What is the difference? What are the properties of matter? What are Owl Pellets? What can they help us learn?

These are some of the many questions that Yeshivat Noam students pondered during their kickoff STEM presentations with the Liberty Science Center, which is partnering with the school in creating Yeshivat Noam’s elementary school STEM program. Liberty Science Center’s objective is to engage students in project-based inquiry and hands-on STEM program units, while following the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) to reinforce, supplement and introduce new and related topics.

This partnership will help create engaging science units that will be taught both by the Liberty Science Center educators, as well as during a weekly STEM period with Morah Nechama Kislak, along with cross curricular activities in the classrooms created by the Liberty Science Center team and Yeshivat Noam classroom teachers. There is excitement in the air as all the students become immersed in new STEM units and activities.
