Yeshivat Noam: Sari Ort, z”l, Middle School Mother-Daughter Brunch

On Sunday morning the Yeshivat Noam Middle School Gymnasium was full of mothers and daughters who joined together for the Sari Ort, z”l, Middle School Mother-Daughter Brunch.

“It’s so inspiring to watch over 160 mothers and their teenage daughters sharing quality bonding time and some laughs over breakfast and an interactive project. This event is particularly unique at Yeshivat Noam as it’s the only one that spans not only all three grades of girls in the middle school, but it is also multi-generational,” shared Event Chair, Mrs. Sari Sheinfeld.

The decor of the Mother-Daughter Brunch was personalized by the students who prepared centerpieces thanking their mothers for a specific thing for which each student was grateful. Some awesome flag examples included, “I love watching movies with you so we can discuss them after” or “I love when you tuck me in at night.” Others included, “Thank you for making broccoli quiche.” “Thank you for helping me with homework.” “Thank you for listening to me.” These meaningful decorative flags set the tone for the special morning ahead.

The program opened with student representatives from each grade—6th, 7th and 8th—sharing dvrei Torah and as well as expressing appreciation for their mothers. Next, the middle school choir, led by Morah Shira Greenspan, sang beautifully for the large audience. The final part of the event was led by Bazaar Star Beadery of Ridgewood, who taught the group about beading. Mothers made bracelets for their daughters and daughters made necklaces for their mothers.

The students and their mothers will look forward to attending this special event next year and the 5th grade girls are looking forward to being included as they become 6th graders in the fall.
