Eighth grade science students have been working on designing and engineering water rockets based on Newton’s three laws of physics. Investigations began with identifying the variables that might be most influential to a successful launch. Students used a protractor-based or trigonometry-based altitude tracker to determine the height of their rockets’ flight. Teams were successful in launching rockets that flew at least 100 feet straight up into the air. A special shout out to all those groups who lost their rockets to the roof of Yeshivat Noam, all in the name of science!!
