Yeshivat Noam second graders took a leadership role in running the Thanksgiving food drive. At the beginning of November the students created posters and presented them to other classes in the school to encourage children to bring in food for those in need. With the help of parent volunteers from the Chesed Committee, the students gathered all the food and separated it into food groups. Next, they packaged the food to donate to the Helping Hands Food Pantry in Teaneck. A volunteer from the Pantry spoke to the students about the pantry and how it provides food. The experience was a special chesed and leadership opportunity for the second graders.
