(Yiddle League) The Yiddle League 5784 season got off to a great start with spring training games last Sunday, followed by regular season opening day games this weekend. The weather changed from blustery and rainy to absolutely perfect weather each of the last two Sunday afternoons, allowing the boys to play after school on Sunday morning.
Once again this season, boys from many communities outside of Passaic and Clifton, have come to participate in a baseball league that stresses the importance of having fun and playing with good midos. Boys from Bergenfield, Fair Lawn, Edison, Riverdale and Monsey have joined the league which has approximately 500 boys, bli ay”h. This season, T-ball was brought back for the boys in pre-kindergarten/nursery. Many local sponsors, such as The Jewish Link of New Jersey, renewed their sponsorship which enabled the registration fee to stay at a very low cost and ensure that every parent could afford to sign up their son. In light of the situation in Eretz Yisroel, all of the boys from fourth through eighth grade recited a chapter of Tehillim at the three baseball fields in Passaic and Clifton prior to their respective opening day games.
