(Courtesy of YIEB) What a weekend at the Discover East Brunswick Shabbaton. Many families joined YIEB for Shabbat at the shabbaton and so much fun was had by all. Guests came from Teaneck, Brooklyn, Highland Park/Edison and Elizabeth.
Following dinner at community members’ homes, community members and visiting families all gathered at the Young Israel of East Brunswick for a community-wide oneg that filled the new ballroom. At the oneg, everyone was able to hear wonderful words of Torah from visiting heads of school from YIEB’s partner schools, who were there the entire shabbaton: Rabbi Ribalt of RPRY, Rivky Ross of Netivot and Rabbi Rubin of Kushner. All three schools are partnering with YIEB in their New Family Incentive Package for new families with incentives of over $50,000!
Shabbat day was jammed packed. Following Shacharit there was a sumptuous kiddush where everyone was able to socialize and meet the amazing members of the community. Lots of good food and laughter was had.
Following kiddush, visiting families and heads of school were joined by the young families of the community for a luncheon. While the adults were enjoying lunch and the company, the children enjoyed a magic show. During lunch, attendees heard from the head of the Discover East Brunswick team, who spoke about the beauty and warmth of East Brunswick. She spoke on how East Brunswick is a growing community with affordable beautiful homes and incredible events and Torah learning. She also mentioned, “One of the many special things about East Brunswick is that no matter where you send your children to school, or how old you are, we are one big community that comes together with the YIEB as the center of our social calendar.”
After lunch everyone either went home to rest or gathered at a community member’s home to hang out and continue to socialize. Motzei Shabbat was filled with laughter at the sold-out annual Comedy Night. This year featured Avi Lieberman and Wali Collins. It was the perfect way to round out a successful Discover East Brunswick shabbaton.
