YIOT Men’s Club Smokes Meat With Sender’s

(Courtesy of YIOT) Young Israel of Teaneck Men’s Club ran an event at Sender’s Smoke Joint called “Smoking Meat with Sender’s.” The Giants-Chiefs Monday night football game was projected on a wall by the outdoor seating area, while 45 members in attendance learned tips and tricks from Chef Gabe. Rabbi Krohn kicked the event off with a dvar Torah on the source in the Torah for smoking meats. Then Chef Gabe talked about the difference between grilling, barbecuing and smoking meats and chicken. He discussed the effects wood and spices have during the smoking process as well as tips the attendees could take home and use in their own kitchens and Shabbos tables. Of course there was plenty to eat: Sender’s famous loaded nachos, fries, wings, smoked chicken, smoked pastrami, brisket and more. The event concluded with Maariv and an (all-too-common) New York Giants loss.
