With Purim around the corner, the Union Y has already planned a variety of activities to welcome in the festival. On Sunday, February 26, from 12:30 to 3:30, the annual Early Bird Purim Carnival will take place. With a totally new format, the carnival will offer rides, inflatables and games for all ages. The costume parade, with prizes, will be at 2 p.m. Pizza and snacks will be available for purchase. The price is $25 per family and $18 per family for Y members. Camp registration for summer 2017 will be available.
On the day of Purim, March 12, the Y will offer a megillah reading at 10:30 a.m. This will be followed by a light bagel brunch from 11:30 to 12:30 with musical entertainment from the “King of Keys,” Peter Lieberman. No registration is needed for the megillah reading, but please RSVP for the brunch. The cost of the brunch is $5 per person and $3 for Y members. Children under age 3 are free and children ages 3 to 10 are $2.
On Wednesday, March 15, the Adult & Senior Department will enjoy a full-course seudah-type luncheon, featuring music and dancing by Tuvia. It begins at 11:30 a.m. and the cost is $8 and $5 for Y members. Reservations are strongly recommended. To reserve or get information on any of these events, please call the Y at 908-289-8112.
